darktable - darktable ep 148 - I'm new to photo editing... where do I start?

#darktable #tutorial #editing In this episode, I (attempt to) look at some basic principles of photo editing, for those that are new to it. Here are a couple of extra things I had intended to include in the video.... More on that limited-viewfinder-coverage issue: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nikon and Canon: Entry-level DSLRs from both brands often have around 95-98% viewfinder coverage. However, their higher-end and mirrorless models generally aim for 100% coverage. Fujifilm: Many of their mirrorless models, particularly in the X-series, tend to offer close to or exactly 100% viewfinder coverage. However, older models may show slightly less. Panasonic (Lumix): Similar to Sony, most of their mirrorless models now offer close to 100% coverage, especially in recent releases aimed at photographers and videographers. Leica: Some Leica digital rangefinders, which lack electronic viewfinders, don't provide an exact framing preview, but the digital overlays offer a close approximation. With regards composition: ------------------------------------------ Robert Capa once said "If your photos aren't interesting enough, you're not close enough". If you're not familiar with his work, he was one of the 20th century's most prolific war photographers.
