Nous, according to the anthropology/psychology of knowledge outlined in book 6, involves the grasp of first principles that other intellectual virtues/modes of knowing then focus upon. Aristotle connects Nous particularly with scientific knowledge (episteme), and maintains that both of them are integrated in wisdom (sophia).
