RESOURCES & LINKS Taxation (UK): https://www.gotitpass.com/tx Got It Pass: https://www.gotitpass.com Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GotitPass We have reached the end of chapter two, which focuses on income tax and its complexities. Income tax is the main topic of the syllabus, and some parts may seem tricky. However, many components are straightforward, helping students gain marks easily. For example, a person who is not a high earner can easily get the allowance by simply including it in their computations. In part three, pensions are a significant focus. A pension helps individuals save for retirement, which is a good practice for everyone. The UK has specific rules regarding pensions. The state pension is funded through national insurance contributions made by employees, employers, and the self-employed. After working for many years, individuals receive a state pension at retirement age. However, this pension is often not enough to live comfortably, making it hard for recipients. To supplement the state pension, many people turn to private pensions. One type is an occupational pension, which is run by an employer and can be funded partly or fully by the employer, encouraging employees to contribute. The other type is a personal pension, where self-employed individuals or employees can fund their retirement savings independently. The UK government encourages private pension funding because the state pension alone may not be sufficient. It provides tax relief, particularly for occupational schemes, where contributions are paid gross and tax relief is applied through the employee's pay slip. #acca #taxation #accacourse #accatraining #accaexam #accounting #uktax #uktaxation #incometaxcomputation #incometax #ukpensions #ukpensiones
