Imagine you're strolling through a jungle on a bright sunny day. Suddenly you see someone putting tons of effort in sawing a large tree. He seems to be working hard with his saw, but the progress is slow. You interrupt the person by saying that why doesn't the person sharpen his saw and then continue. This will make the task easier and save a lot of time. The person replies without stopping: "Can't you see I'm too busy? I don't have time to sharpen the saw." Well this is exactly how most people go through life, they keep working harder and harder at things that are urgent and right in front of them disguised as important tasks. But they forget about the things that will really make a difference. Things like educating oneself to make the right decision, or daily meditation are not urgent activities. But they make a whole lot of difference in improving one's life. You see self improvement is not urgent, but it is important. For example going to the doctor when you're doing bad health wise is urgent. But taking care of your health by eating the right food and working out on a regular basis are not urgent activities. And when you spend time doing these, you definitely won't have to deal with the urgent emergency health problems. There are four dimensions of renewal and continuous improvement.
